You are enough... part 1

"I am not enough..."

Am I the only one who’s had this thought? It may sound like this "I can’t do this anymore." "I wish I was a better mother." "Why was I passed over at this job?" "Is my husband still happy with me?" Just to name a few of the nagging belittling thoughts we wrestle with day to day.

But who says?

The enemy can whisper a thousand reasons why we're "failing". The enemy can plant a million nagging questions to cause us to doubt ourselves. There’s a reason why he is called the accuser (Revelation 12:10). It is his nature to attempt to plant seeds of doubt. Remember his conversation with Eve in the Garden or his conversation with God about Job?

If we know that he is the "father of lies" (John 8:44), then why do we listen to him? (I am totally guilty of this.) What does OUR Father feel about us?

Psalm 139 says "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.”

Ephesians 2 says "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."

Philippians 1:6 says “being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;”

And finally Psalm 139 also says, "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well."

Do we really know that very well? Just like the enemy can come up with seemingly endless nagging thoughts and doubts, our Father has endless thoughts for us and encouragement. Seek His word and voice. Learn His thoughts for us and how He loves. Tell yourself (and the enemy) that to the Father "YOU ARE ENOUGH." Period Pooh!
